West Virginia W.C.G. Prayer Retreat
The annual "prayer retreat" sponsored by the Women of The
Church of God in West Virginia will be held at Cedar Lakes on
September 24th and 25th with women from all of the churches in West
Virginia joining together for two days of inspirational worship. (for

Faith Promise Convention coming to First Church
On September 26th Kirk Bookout, from Anderson, will be with us to
share in our FAITH PROMISE CONVENTION.
Kirk will also be presenting our church with a plaque in
acknowledgment of our congregation giving over $250,000.00 to missions
over the last 50 years.

WV SYC 2004
State youth going to Ogleby Park for State Youth
Convention.
November 5-7, 2004 are the dates for our youth and hundreds of
others who will be going to Wheeling for their YOUTH CONVENTION
entitled "Faith Moves" with Keith Deltano as the guest
speaker and EVERYMAN serving as the worship leaders for this event
that draws hundreds of youth from all over the state of West Virginia.

80th Anniversary and Homecoming of The Dunbar First Church of
God
Will be held on Sunday October 17th with Dr. Gary Patton serving as
our speaker and the Suttle Family Singers bringing the special music.
Schedule of events:
Worship: 9:30 AM
Concert: 10:30 AM
Luncheon: Noon
All member, former members and friends of our church are invited to
attend this special event.

THE KID'S CLUBHOUSE
The church has started a new
program for the kids in our church and community on Wednesday nights
called the Kid's Clubhouse. The Clubhouse is located in the
church activity building at 7:00 each Wednesday night with bible
lessons, games, refreshments and a whole lot of fun for all who are
involved.

"I AM" is our Men's organization name and you can read
about some of our wonderful projects and projects throughout the web
pages.
Men's Group Activities
The AGAPE Men's group meets for Bible Study and
prayer on the first and third Tuesday of each month in the Youth Room.
Many of the Men from the congregation will be
attending the annual OX ROAST in Ohio at Camp Marengo from September
9-11.
They will be joining about 800 other men from Ohio
and other states as they share one of the greatest events
on the men's calendar.
First Church of God: Fall Men's Retreat will
be held at Rippling Waters Campground on November 5-6, 2004 at
the Warner Cottage.. Several men from our congregation will be
bringing their food and sleeping bags to share in an evening and half
a day of inspirational Bible study and prayer .... mixed in with a
lot of food and fellowship.
PROMISE KEEPERS
Wondering
what this year's Promise Keepers conference is all about?
The 2004 Promise Keepers Meeting was held for the first time at
the CHARLESTON CIVIC CENTER. This special event will take
place on July 9-10, 2004 for the first time in the state of West
Virginia.

SUNDAY SCHOOL
THOUGHT
True education begins with the BIBLE and we can
learn more about God's word each Sunday morning when we meet for
Sunday School.
COME AND JOIN US EACH SUNDAY AT 9:30 AM for Bible
study.

Youth Class (meets in the youth room) with Tim
Kinder and Brian Lester as the teachers
Christianity 101 (Meets in the Activity Building)
with Melody Potter and Shelly Newman as the teachers.
Pacesetters Class (Meets in the Activity
Building) with a team of teachers.
Adult II (meets in the church building) with
Melody Potter and Laura Parsons as teachers.
Adult III meets in the sanctuary with a team of
teachers.
Plus we have classes for all ages of children.
